Safety Policy

Safer events,
clearer signals.

HereNow uses AI safety checks to classify public event pages and show attendee-friendly advisories when extra context may help people decide whether an event is right for them.

The model

We label risk instead of silently hiding context.

Most events are ordinary community activity. When an event contains mature or sensitive signals, we make the attendee-facing context clearer instead of relying only on a hard publish block.

All-ages friendly

All ages

No elevated safety signals were detected in the public event details. Attendees should still review the host, venue, and requirements before joining.

14+ suggested

14+

The event may involve specialized, mature, regulated, or sensitive topics. Attendees see a clear advisory before they register.

18+ content advisory

18+

The event may include adult-oriented or age-sensitive content. Attendees see a clear age advisory before they register.

Safety advisory

Notice

The event has elevated safety signals. Attendees see a stronger notice and should review the host, venue, requirements, and payment details carefully.

Controls

A layered safety system for a broad event platform.

AI is a first pass, not the final authority. The system combines automated scanning, visible labels, human review, and attendee reports.

AI scan on publish

Public event text, agenda, tags, speakers, custom form fields, and imported source signals are scanned for safety patterns.

Visible attendee labels

When a page needs context, attendees see a plain-language advisory instead of hidden platform decisions.

Layered platform safeguards

Some cases may receive additional team review so we can reduce false positives and respond to real safety concerns.

Manual review path

Operators can approve false positives, keep a safety label in place, or ask a host to edit risky copy.

Report loop

Attendees can report unsafe, misleading, or inappropriate activity pages for human review.

Policy areas

What the scanner looks for.

The categories below are used to create attendee advisories and manual review queues. Context matters, so humans can review false positives.

Illegal or regulated activity
Violence or public safety risk
Hate, harassment, or doxxing
Scam, fraud, or deceptive money claims
Medical, legal, financial, or tax advice claims
Adult content, exploitation, or unclear age boundaries
Privacy or identity data over-collection
Self-harm or crisis-sensitive support

Safety labels are guidance, not a guarantee.

Attendees should still review the event host, venue, requirements, payment details, and local rules before attending. If something looks unsafe or misleading, use the report flow so our team can review it.
